**Role Summary:**

The Field Service Engineer will manage installations and servicing of GE Monitoring and Diagnostic products at customer sites and deliver quality onsite and remote support to customers.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

As the Field Service Engineer, you will:

+ Perform installation and service work on state of the art transformer monitoring equipment

+ Perform troubleshooting and fault finding to Printed Circuit Board (PCB) level

+ Liaise effectively with customers in job planning, execution, follow-up and sales support, and internally with engineering departments, manufacturing, and Sales team

+ Provide Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Leadership, conducting field work in compliance with applicable regulations and encouraging accurate employee safety practices

+ Act as a primary technical resource for on-site work and lead in resolving engineering and product issues

+ Provide technical direction to skilled labor while performing work on customer sites and equipment to assure quality standards and attention to detail

+ Provide installation and service direction on-site and remotely, including repairs, replacements, and rebuilds, for a range of equipment vintages, sizes, and application types

+ Provide both external and internal timely, accurate, professional reports

+ Provide, audit, and implement quality control requirements for on-site repair and upgrades in compliance with Engineering and Product Department standards

+ Communicate schedule details, project milestones, manpower requirements, quality issues, and tools / equipment requirements to the appropriate individuals

+ Leverage applicable Lean / 6-Sigma projects


+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (OR related Technical Certification with a minimum of 1 year of experience in field service / field engineering or equivalent experience)

+ Minimum of 2 years of working experience in field services or electrical utility industry


+ Ability and willingness to work extra hours and weekends as needed

+ Ability and willingness to work at customer locations and travel 80% of the time as required

+ Ability and willingness to obtain a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ Experience with installation and maintenance programs for Power Generation and Transformers

+ Knowledge of DGA products or DGA technology

+ Six Sigma Certification or equivalent certification

+ Knowledge of HV transformers, monitoring devices and related equipment

+ Attentive Environmental Health and Safety mindset and compliance

+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

+ Strong customer service skills

+ Ability to confidently address groups while providing training on company equipment in a professional manner

+ Highly self-motivated, and confident in stressful situations

+ Ability to work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision
