Our Little Rock CEI team is looking for another Construction Inspector!
Selected individual will be responsible for ensuring that assigned construction projects are built in accordance with the plans and specifications; supervising other Jacobs personnel when surveying, and for inspecting contractor work.
+ Coordinate the activities of inspection work and personnel over that work to ensure adherence to specifications, plans, and procedures.
+ Analyze construction plans and monitor construction to ensure possible problems are identified, necessary changes recommended and that construction is in accordance with plans and specifications.
+ Practice complete and accurate records management to facilitate current and final estimate payments to contractors.
+ Test and evaluate materials with respect to specifications and past experience to ensure the utilization of materials capable of yielding durable finished products.
+ Establish and maintain productive relationship with contractor supervisors to ensure that materials are properly handled and applied and that corrections in procedure are promptly made.
+ Monitor pit operations and asphalt and concrete plants to ensure adequate and proper control of material production and proper gathering and testing of material samples.
+ Supervise other Jacobs employees in performing all survey and inspection operations necessary.
+ Employee is required to frequently drive a company vehicle to various job locations.
+ May be required to attend preconstruction and regularly scheduled partnering meetings, under the supervision of the Resident Engineer.
+ May require employee to perform functions beyond those contained in the

job description. Related, similar, or other logical duties are frequently assigned. Jacobs may modify job description based on project and company needs.


+ College degree preferred.

+ Educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school required.

+ Knowledge of surveying, engineering, construction plans and specifications, and highway materials sampling and testing procedures is required

+ Knowledge of construction project documentation procedures.

+ Supervisory capabilities.

+ Minimum of three years experience in construction inspection required.

+ Certification in Soils/Earthwork and Portland Cement Concrete Testing by the Technician Certificate Program at the Mack-Blackwell Rural Transportation Study Center, or equivalent certification.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software, and the use of Microsoft Windows operating system.

+ Working knowledge of SiteManager software.

+ Valid driver's license is required

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
